There will be a Parish Council Saturday Surgery at 10.30 a.m. on the morning of 23rd September 2017. Residents are welcome to come along to the Village Library to discuss any matter of concern.

The Parish Council

The Council comprises 9 elected councillors who are unpaid volunteers and employs a part-time Clerk.  Every Councillor is required to complete a 'Register of Interests' disclosure, which is held by Maldon District Council.  A copy of the register for Wickham Bishops may be downloaded here.

The Council is consulted on all Planning matters by Maldon District Council. The Parish Council has a sub-committee and formulates a recommendation to Maldon District Council who make a final decision.

Each Councillor has a specific area of responsibility (i.e. Highways, Planning, Environment, Footpaths, Amenities, Recreation, Emergency Planning) and also have specific areas in the village for which they are responsible.

The Council manage and fund a range of activities including maintenance of green areas, litter picking, bi-annual picnic, held for residents and friends on August Bank Holiday.

The Parish Council is registered as a Data Controller with the Information Commissioner's Office.  Registration Number ZA087504

Parish Council Meetings
