The Library Pond

From a small dug out area in the corner of the library car park, we have created a beautiful wildlife pond. The biodiversity group has developed this over 2023, using guidance from Essex Wildlife Trust.

We created the wildlife habitats at the edges from logs, with plenty of shallow margins, pebbles, gravel and plants.

In the centre of the pond more planting has increased the opportunities for more invertebrates and hopefully some frogs, newts or toads to use the pond (there is a protective grid across the water surface for safety)
